Merry Christmas and a Fast New Year
We hope that everyone has a great holiday season. Look forward to new additions to the web page in 2010. We hope to expand club functions and meet new members. Here is to new PR's in 2010.Congratulations to Ed Moore and Craig Marshall for braving the cool temperatures and the 10 miles of mud to complete the Run At The Rock in Burlington, NC. Ed finished in 1:59:05 to finish 2nd in his age group. Craig finished 2:36. Great job guys!
The 4th Annual ASC Greenway Trail Race was held on May 30th. The “recession race” was an outstanding success.
Mo Campbell of Charlotte was the overall winner in a time of 1:41:13. She out kicked several of the male competitors to take the title.
In the 5 mile race, we had repeat winner in Matt Yost of Charlotte in a time 33:06.
Thanks to all of those who participated and especially those who volunteered to help with the race. A standing ovation is definetly due to Club President and Race Director Dan Wellbaum.
We look forward to the 5th Annual race in 2010.
A couple of Striders headed up to Gibsonville, NC on last weekend to compete in the Groundhog Gallop.
In the 20K, Edward Moore finished 19th overall and 2nd in his age group(3 minutes faster than 2008). Scott Kennedy finished 5th overall and 2nd in his age group.
The Striders were well represented in this challenging and even wet course (included 4 water crossings).
